"Rehman Malik has assured the nation that there are no differences between the army and the President."
"And who is his source of information?"
"Whatever do you mean? He is the Minister of Interior despite the fact that our internal situation remains extremely challenging to say the least..."
"I repeat my question: who is Malik's source?"
"Well it has to be the President. I mean there is a rumour that the army did not even let him inside its headquarters after the recent terrorist attack."
"Malik said he would resign if that were true?"
"Malik should resign in any case especially now given that he would have to defend numerous cases of corruption against him, what with the National Reconciliation Ordinance dead and him not eligible for any immunity."
"He can handle both interior and his cases at the same time. He is a very resourceful guy."
"Don't be facetious."
"Anyway I don't recall a recent time when the army chief went to see the President. He has gone to see the Prime Minister but not the President."
"And I don't recall a recent time when the army chief met Malik."
"There you go then! But wasn't the NRO the outcome of Musharraf and Benazir. I mean the army should honour its deal."
"Both those who signed the document are dead."
"Musharraf is still alive."
"He is politically dead though no one seems to have told him that."
"Are you suggesting that President Zardari has not inherited the terms of the NRO! This is ridiculous. The army chief must go and see the framed will of Benazir Bhutto which last I heard was framed and hung in the Zardari House in Islamabad which specifically states that her legitimate heir is her spouse."
"Didn't the President bring that with him to the Presidency?"
"No he just brought her pictures."
"Well he needs to display it on the side table..."
"And replace it with Quaid's picture so recently displayed?"
"Hey you have to have your priorities right."
